I found this to be interesting, in from a reader.  I would that we were doing a church-wide fast for ten days to prepare as a people.  Maybe us united with the striving (religious, not sectarian) Jews and other Christian denominations throughout the world would have an awesome effect in these Days of Awe:

Prophecy Checklist Norma Pyper Mitchell page 82-83
…And the Lord Jesus will appear and show Himself unto His servants in His temple in holy places, to counsel and instruct and direct.  He will appear in the glory of His Father, in His resurrected body, among those who can endure His presence and glory.  And all this I expect long before He will waste away and destroy the wicked from off the face of the earth (Erastus Snow, Journal Discourses, Volume 25:34)
Among the first-mentioned of these three classes of men, the Lord will make his appearance first; and that appearance will be unknown to the rest of mankind.  He will come to the Temple prepared for him, and his faithful people will behold his face, hear his voice, and gaze upon his glory. From his own lips they will receive further instructions for the development and beautifying of Zion and for the extension and sure stability of his Kingdom (Charles W. Penrose, Millennial Star, September 10, 1859)
Prophecy Checklist Norma Pyper Mitchell page 37
I explained concerning the coming of the Son of Man; also that it is a false idea that the Saints will escape the judgments, whilst the wicked suffer; for all flesh is subject to suffer, and “the righteous shall hardly escape;” still many of the Saints will escape, for they shall live by faith; yet many of the righteous shall fall prey to disease, pestilence, etc., by reason of the weakness of the flesh, and yet be saved in the kingdom of God.  So that it is an unhallowed principle to say that such and such have transgressed because they have been preyed upon by disease or death, for all flesh is subject to death; and the Savior has said, “Judge not, lest ye be judged” (Joseph Smith, History of the Church, Volume 4:11)
The Lord’s hand is over all, and therein I acknowledge his hand.  Not that men are at war, not that nations are trying to destroy nations, not that men are plotting against the liberties of their fellow creatures, not in those respects at all: but God’s hand is not shortened.  He will control the results that will follow.  He will overrule them in a way that you and I, today, do not comprehend, or do not forsee, for ultimate good (Joseph F. Smith, Teachings of the Presidents of the Church, p 394

 Thanks, Jennifer!
