In his closing remarks for the April 2019 General Conference, President Nelson stated:
“As you study (the conference messages), seek to learn what the Lord is trying to teach you through His servants.”
In this vein, and to hopefully enrich your personal study, we have developed discussion questions for the April 2019 General Conference Addresses. These are for Saturday Morning and Afternoon session. Ulisses Soares, “How Can I Understand?”

• God teaches us through other people at times. As teachers, how can we be sure to magnify our callings and honor Christ in our lessons?
• How can we ensure that we strengthen others’ testimonies of Christ when we teach them?
• How can we more explicitly teach our children about Christ and about the gospel? Be specific.
• Why is teaching our children the gospel our sacred responsibility as parents? • How can you increase your love for others?
Sister Becky Craven, “Careful vs. Casual”

• What does it mean to ‘carefully’ live the gospel?
• How can we teach our children to carefully live the gospel?
• Make a list of ways you are casual about the gospel, then make a detailed plan of how you can improve and be more careful in those areas. • Why might casually living the gospel be dangerous?
• How might casually living the gospel affect our entire lives? • How might living the gospel more carefully improve your life?
• How might living the gospel carefully strengthen your faith and testimony of Christ? Dieter F. Uchtdorf, “Missionary Work – Sharing What is in Your Heart“

• Why do we sometimes think we are above or past being persecuted for righteousness sake? • How can we grow in our faith in spite of or because of persecution? • How can we more actively claim the blessings of the gospel? • What does it mean to ‘claim’ our blessings?
• What does it mean to love others? (Noun versus a verb)
• How can we increase the love in our hearts for others? Why do we need to? • What does it mean to walk the path of discipleship?
• How can we help strengthen each other to walk the path of discipleship? • Why is there not one right way to share the gospel?
• Why is it important to share what is in your heart when sharing the gospel message with others?
• How can we increase our trust in God to ‘work His miracles’ with regard to missionary work?
• We often make sharing the gospel about us; our fears, our comfort, etc. How can we increase our faith in the power of the Holy Ghost to covert people to Christ?
• When we share the gospel and someone rejects it, we often feel it a personal failure. How might we decrease this feeling/fear?
• How can we become ‘living testimonials’ of the principles of the gospel and our beliefs? Henry B. Eyring, “The Power of Sustaining Faith”
• How do we qualify ourselves for the presence of the Holy Ghost? • How might we become more spiritually minded?
• How might we increase the unity in our homes and families?
• What actions can we take today to increase and sustain peace in our homes and families?
• What is one way you can alter your family prayers to increase your family’s unity and faith in Christ?
• How does your family now demonstrate the love of God in your home? How might your family strengthen the love of God in your home?
• In what explicit ways do you teach your children about Jesus Christ? How can you increase/improve your efforts?
• We were taught that in order to get rid of pride, we need to build up our faith in Christ. What are some ways you can do that today? M. Russell Ballard, “The True, Pure, and Simple Gospel of Jesus Christ“

• How can we ‘really’ know God loves us?
• How has your life changed as a result of knowing God loves you? • How can your life change if you don’t yet know that God loves you?
• In what ways can we teach our children that God loves them? How can you know if they truly believe it? • How can we remain content in the simplicity of the gospel truths? • Why is it important to be content in the simplicity of the gospel truths?
• How can the Come, Follow Me curriculum be part of our weekly spiritual renewal? Why might we need that renewal more than ever? Neil L. Andersen, “The Eye of Faith“

• What is truth?
• Why does Satan try to distort what truth is?
• How does Satan distort truth?
• How will Satan’s success at distorting truth affect God’s children? • How can we learn truth?
• How can our perspective alter how we see a person or principle?
• How can we use our agency to change our perspective or lens through which we view people and gospel principles? Thanks for Reading!
