The Treasures of Heaven, Wisdom and Knowledge
True Wisdom comes by suffering for others.
True Knowledge comes by serving others.
Love being the motivation behind the two.
Both are obtained exponentially when we put a God in the equation and truly obey Christ’s request, “if ye love me, keep my commandments” or obey the first and great commandment (Matthew 22:37-40).
We can only really do this simple but all important commandment when we take the Holy Spirit as our guide in and for all things because the “others” that we suffer and serve now always will have Christ first and foremost and always followed by “our neighbors”. I’m finding the “neighbors” usually starts with one’s own family or closest relations then begins to broaden.
This process occurs naturally when we begin to seek and obey the voice of the Spirit or Christ’s voice found by “praying always”. Then the following law of heaven is fulfilled:
And behold, all that he requires of you is to keep his commandments; and he has promised you that if ye would keep his commandments ye should prosper in the land; and he never doth vary from that which he hath said; therefore, if ye do keep his commandments he doth bless you and prosper you. Mosiah 2:22
To be blessed and prosper is to receive the treasured blessings of heaven, God’s wisdom and knowledge. All we need to do to begin to receiving these treasures is to apply and act on the following scriptures:
For behold, again I say unto you that if ye will enter in by the way, and receive the Holy Ghost, it will show unto you all things what ye should do.
Behold, this is the doctrine of Christ, and there will be no more doctrine given until after he shall manifest himself unto you in the flesh. And when he shall manifest himself unto you in the flesh, the things which he shall say unto you shall ye observe to do.
But behold, I say unto you that ye must pray always, and not faint; that ye must not perform any thing unto the Lord save in the first place ye shall pray unto the Father in the name of Christ, that he will consecrate thy performance unto thee, that thy performance may be for the welfare of thy soul. 2 Nephi 32
To truly live the gospel of Jesus Christ and obtain the treasures of heaven is to simply, simply, and simply obey His commandment “to pray always” and do all things by constant prayer and revelation. In doing so we literally do all things for Him and obtain wisdom and knowledge in and by the process of following and learning by “the still small voice”, which is His voice brought to us by the Holy Ghost.
As we humbly pray always, constantly giving the one gift we can to God, our agency, and become His servant, we obtain all other blessings along the set path we need to obtain salvation.
God takes care of the past and future, He just invites us to participate in the present, the now, and if we do that continually He promises all that He has.
Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? For your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.
Take therefore no thought for the morrow, for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. 3 Nephi 13:31-34 Side Note on seeking personal revelation:
The Holy Ghost and seeking guidance from the Spirit by our agency is the inversion or reflection of the adversary’s counterfeit which is “possession”. Meaning our agency is taken by force by Satan instead of giving it as a gift to God which is done by submitting to the true Spirit by choice and not yielding our agency or choice to a false spirit (or addiction) that will only enslave us instead of allowing us to continually choose to be a servant.
