The Prayer of Faith.
“And again, I say unto you that ye shall not go until ye have preached my gospel in those parts, and have strengthened up the church whithersoever it is found, and more especially in Colesville; for, behold, they pray unto me in much faith.”
Doctrine and Covenants 37:2
I love this verse because in it the Lord is telling Joseph to move the church to Ohio but then He tells Joseph to stop by Colesville because they had “prayed unto me in much faith.” It is comforting to see in this revelation that God is hearing and mindful of the faithful prayers of the Colesville Saints and answering it by sending Priesthood power to help and comfort them in their trials. The same blessings can be ours if we but pray in faith. If we pray in faith we can be assured that the Lord will hear us.

“With a prayer of faith, God can grant us power in the priesthood for whatever circumstance we may be in.”
Henry B. Eyring
The Return of the King.
“But, verily I say unto you that in time ye shall have no king nor ruler, for I will be your king and watch over you.”
Doctrine and Covenants 38:21

In this verse, it speaks of the second coming of Jesus Christ when instead of politicians or dictators we will have Jesus Christ as our King. I love the following verse where he declares if we follow Him He will be our Lawgiver and we will be a free people.
It is always important to remember our loyalty is first to God. God must always come before any government, political party, or ideology. Remember if your politics and God disagree with each other, who toy choose to follow will become your god. It is also very important to remember that God is not part of a political party, he is neither a Republican nor Democrat, a Conservative nor a Liberal. All current governments, political parties, and ideologies in the world today are terrestrial governments at best. When he comes all earthly governments will come to an end as He will bring a Celestial form of government to us. Wise are the words of President Oaks when it comes to political ideologies.

“Those who govern their thoughts and actions solely by the principles of liberalism or conservatism or intellectualism cannot be expected to agree with all of the teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ. As for me, I find some wisdom in liberalism, some wisdom in conservatism, and much truth in intellectualism—but I find no salvation in any of them.”
Dallin H. Oaks

Reflecting Christ’s Light.
“The light and the life of the world; a light which shineth in darkness and the darkness comprehendeth it not;”
Doctrine and Covenants 39:2

We live in a world that is full of hellish darkness. The hearts of men have waxed cold and honestly, as a millennial, the future sometimes feels foreboding. But in the middle of this, there is hope, there is Christ.
Jesus Christ is the Light of the world, the hope that helps us to endure. Once we have received His hope and grace we are then charged to reflect the light that He has given us. We become the light of the world, a city on a hill. Last Christmas millions joined forces to reflect the light of Jesus Christ and
#LIGHTtheWORLD
just because that was the Social Media incentive during Christmas does not mean we don’t need to still light the world!
“You are a son or daughter of our Heavenly Father. You have come from His presence to live on this earth for a season, to reflect the Savior’s love and teachings, and to bravely let your light shine for all to see.”
Thomas S. Monson.

The dangers of FEAR.
“And he received the word with gladness, but straightway Satan tempted him; and the fear of persecution and the cares of the world caused him to reject the word.”
Doctrine and Covenants 40:2

Fear is one of Satan’s most powerful tools. He uses fear to destroy the faith of men. You don’t need to get good men to do bad things you just need to get them to do nothing. Being paralyzed by fear led Pilate to let the Jews crucify Christ, he was afraid of what would happen if the people started to riot.
Fear leads to us losing blessings, but just as fear destroys faith, faith casts out fear. After all, fear is merely false evidence appearing real.
“Fear is dispelled through a correct knowledge of and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.”
David A. Bednar
