When this happens, we are close.  I expect it any month now (I have been saying the same thing for years now).  The Harbinger is the calling out of missionaries from the countries where they are serving.  We have had this of sorts in many situations, already as things get too dangerous for foreign missionaries to effectively proselyte in a country (such as Russia or Indonesia, for example).  Usually, before war happens, there is degradation of social and other norms and then it starts in earnest.  I have read quite a bit about how the people were evacuated from Germany before WWII, and then the missionaries would come out.

People who sensed what was coming, survived.  Those who were oblivious ended up in a work camp or gas chamber.  Not good odds in either of those two situations.  Just as there will not be good odds for those here during WWIII.  The only place on the face of the earth where people will be fine will be New Zealand above 3,000-5,000 feet.  Even then, the EQs there will be devastating.  Pick your poison.  I would rather be in the cities of light here in the USA.  Most of the honest in heart will be gathered out to this continent anyway – so might as well preserve a place in the line, right?

Bottom line, it is all in God’s hands – so get right with Him and buckle up!!

As an aside, I have been in contact with an individual who has had an experience of being called to return to the NJ (Spencer-style) and may have had some sort of sealing experience.  It is my intention to get permission to share that experience.  It was amazing – but simple and affirms that ordinary people can seek and obtain the blessing once they show that they qualify through faithfulness and desire.  Pray they will let me share it, if it is appropriate.

Here is something off FB from a faithful brother that got me spun up:

The missionaries were called home at the outbreak of both World War I and World War II.
At the present moment, the Lord seems to be holding off a Third World War until the Lord’s hastened work can be completed (D&C 88:73)
How much longer will that be the case – with ‘rumors of war’, Russian (and Chinese) military presence off the coast of this country, kinetic military action and levied economic war between the United States and the European Union against China and Russia (with many other players in the fold)?
I suppose only time will tell. But I can all but guarantee that the precedent of bringing the missionaries home at the outset of another World War is all but inevitable:
“Do you think there is calamity abroad now among the people? Not much. All we have yet heard and all we have experienced is scarcely a preface to the sermon that is going to be preached. When the testimony of the Elders ceases to be given, and the Lord says to them, “Come home; I will now preach my own sermons to the nations of the earth,” all you now know can scarcely be called a preface to the sermon that will be preached with fire and sword, tempests, earthquakes, hail, rain, thunders and lightnings, and fearful destruction. What matters the destruction of a few railway cars? You will hear of magnificent cities, now idolized by the people, sinking in the earth, entombing the inhabitants. The sea will heave itself beyond its bounds, engulfing mighty cities. Famine will spread over the nations, and nation will rise up against nation, kingdom against kingdom, and states against states, in our own country and in foreign lands.”
– Brigham Young
(Journal of Discourses, Vol. 8, p. 123, July 15, 1860)
“When God has called out the righteous, when the warning voice has been sufficiently proclaimed among tile Gentile nations, and the Lord says, “It is enough,” he will also say to his servants—”O, ye, my servants, come home, come out from the midst of these Gentile nations, where you have labored and borne testimony for so long a period; come out from among them, for they are not worthy; they do not receive the message that I have sent forth, they do not repent of their sins, come out from their midst, their times are fulfilled. Seal up the testimony among them and bind up the law.”
– Orson Pratt
(Journal of Discourses, Vol. 18, p. 64, July 25, 1875)
(D&C 88:88-91)
88 And after your testimony cometh wrath and indignation upon the people.
89 For after your testimony cometh the testimony of earthquakes, that shall cause groanings in the midst of her, and men shall fall upon the ground and shall not be able to stand.
90 And also cometh the testimony of the voice of thunderings, and the voice of lightnings, and the voice of tempests, and the voice of the waves of the sea heaving themselves beyond their bounds.
91 And all things shall be in commotion; and surely, men’s hearts shall fail them; for fear shall come upon all people.
(D&C 45:21-35)
21 And it shall come to pass, that this generation of Jews shall not pass away until every desolation which I have told you concerning them shall come to pass.
22 Ye say that ye know that the end of the world cometh; ye say also that ye know that the heavens and the earth shall pass away;
23 And in this ye say truly, for so it is; but these things which I have told you shall not pass away until all shall be fulfilled.
24 And this I have told you concerning Jerusalem; and when that day shall come, shall a remnant be scattered among all nations;
25 But they shall be gathered again; but they shall remain until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
26 And in that day shall be heard of wars and rumors of wars, and the whole earth shall be in commotion, and men’s hearts shall fail them, and they shall say that Christ delayeth his coming until the end of the earth.
27 And the love of men shall wax cold, and iniquity shall abound.
28 And when the times of the Gentiles is come in, a light shall break forth among them that sit in darkness, and it shall be the fulness of my gospel;
29 But they receive it not; for they perceive not the light, and they turn their hearts from me because of the precepts of men.
30 And in that generation shall the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
31 And there shall be men standing in that generation, that shall not pass until they shall see an overflowing scourge; for a desolating sickness shall cover the land.
32 But my disciples shall stand in holy places, and shall not be moved; but among the wicked, men shall lift up their voices and curse God and die.
33 And there shall be earthquakes also in divers places, and many desolations; yet men will harden their hearts against me, and they will take up the sword, one against another, and they will kill one another.
34 And now, when I the Lord had spoken these words unto my disciples, they were troubled.
35 And I said unto them: Be not troubled, for, when all these things shall come to pass, ye may know that the promises which have been made unto you shall be fulfilled.
